Frequently asked questions

A lecture course (CM) usually lasts 2 hours and they are given in the lecture halls of the faculty (amphitheater 2 or II, 2bis or IIbis, 3 or III, 3bis or IIIbis…). Professors usually deposit their slideshows after the class, on claroline.

- Enseignements Dirigés (Directed Teachings, Class-led instruction, or turorial) takes place in small groups. They are often based on practical cases and allow us to apply the knowledge acquired in CM. The small group allows each student to ask questions and to prepare for exams. They often require prior preparation, you can find subjects for a ED’s session on claroline.

- Practical work is also carried out with the same group as for the EDs. They often require prior preparation and are usually done in pairs. There is often a grade for a TP or at the end of several TP’s sessions. The grade is on the basis of a report done during the session, or questionnaires completed before or during the TP.

  • The university library of Rockefeller
    • The library is located on the Rockefeller campus, on the 2nd floor of the main building. Many services are offered: access to a computer, individual workplace, individual room, group room, printer, stationery distributors
  • Other libraries
    • With your student card, you also have access to the libraries of the other campuses: the library of the DOUA campus, the library “Jean Moulin” in Sans Souci (on the metro line D).
  • Affluences
    • This is a site/application that allows you to consult the opening hours of the different libraries, and to reserve your place. To reserve your place you will have to enter your university email address (@etu.univ-lyon1.fr).
  • The acronym UE stands for, 'Teaching Unit', it corresponds to the different subjects taught. To validate an UE, it is necessary to obtain a score higher than 9/20 in the subject considered. If the score obtained is less than 9/20, there is a remedial session (in June). If the score is between 9 and 10, it can be compensated with the scores of the same block (the UE “métier” block or the UE “transversal” block).
  •  The mark obtained at the end of the semester corresponds to the mark obtained during the final examination (which has the largest coefficient), sometimes also continuous assessment of knowledge ( referred to as CC) and marks obtained during the different TPs.
  • Finally, ECTS are the credits assigned to each subject.
